Lift springs

Achieve more ground clearance and a tougher look with MAD lift springs. The longer suspension travel ensures optimum comfort on uneven surfaces. This allows you to take on any bumpy road and rough terrain with ease.

Lift springs offer many advantages to the driver, especially when facing obstacles such as speed bumps or kerbs. This is why these springs are often used in special vehicles such as ambulances, fire fighting vehicles, trauma service vehicles and police vehicles. They improve vehicle stability and safety, making both the driver and passengers feel more secure. Moreover, they often prevent damage to the undercarriage of the vehicle.

MAD Lift springs - coil suspension system

Lift springs are the ideal solution when the vehicle:

  • is occasionally or constantly heavily loaded
  • is too low when loaded, has too little ground clearance
  • sags, bottoms out or hits the end stops
  • is sensitive to side winds
  • rolls over when cornering
  • is unstable or sways when loaded
  • does not steer directly

Specifications

Type of suspension system:
Coil spring system

Category:
Lift springs

Axle:
Front and rear axle

Compatible with cars with type of suspension system:
Coil and leaf springs

Installation:
The composition of a lift spring kit is matched to the vehicle's original suspension system. Lift Elevation springs always replace the original coil springs on the front axle and usually also the springs on the rear axle (in case of coil springs). In some cases, the raise on the rear axle is achieved with auxiliary coil or (auxiliary) air suspension.

Lift springs can also be fitted in combination with leaf springs, as light commercial vehicles and pick-ups trucks are often equipped.

Support:
Normal use. For some models, we also offer lift springs with medium and maximum support.

  • Basic support: normal use, regularly changing payloads
  • Medium support: heavily loaded, possibly with minimum required payload weight
  • Maximum support: always heavily loaded, often from minimum required payload weight onwards

Installation:
Supplied as a complete set, including mounting materials. Re-alignment is recommended.

Certification:

  • TÜV and RDW approved
  • Complies with ECE R13 directive (operation ABS/ESP)

All of MAD's suspension systems are custom-made and extensively tested. As a result, they always fit the vehicle perfectly. This is how we guarantee the best quality.

Discover all the advantages of lift springs

+ More ground clearance
+ Prevents sagging (static)
+ Prevents contact between the rear of the vehicle and the road surface (driving on/off ferries)
+ Prevents hitting the end stops of the suspension system
+ Prevents bottoming out (tow bar/rear end on speed bumps)
+ Prevents swaying of trailer or caravan
+ Easy and quick to install
+ Ideal for multiple drivers
+ A tough look
+ Reduces damage to the undercarriage
+ Contributes to safety
+ Long lifespan: metal parts are electrolytically galvanised
+ High-grade corrosion protection thanks to phosphating and epoxy coating

Extra powerful lift springs

When you drive with a heavy payload, you demand more from the suspension system. This is why MAD offers extra powerful lift springs for some models for different payload situations. You can choose from basic support, medium support or maximum support. So we offer maximum comfort, control and safety.

Suspension systems from MAD are certified by TÜV.

What do you want to know about lift springs?

How do lift springs operate?

Lift springs are used to increase the ride height. This is applied, for example, in off-road driving or improving the look of the vehicle. Here is how lift springs generally operate:

  • Installation
Lift springs replace the vehicle's existing coil springs. These springs usually have a larger wire diameter and/or more windings than the original springs, resulting in a higher spring rate. This means the springs provide more force to keep the vehicle level up.
  • Increase in ride height
When lift springs are installed, the vehicle will be higher off the ground. This provides additional ground clearance, making it easier for the vehicle to pass obstacles and preventing or reducing damage to the vehicle's undercarriage.
  • Improved off-road performance
Raising the ride height with lift springs can improve a vehicle's off-road performance. It provides more clearance under the vehicle for rocks, muddy terrain and other challenging conditions.
  • Adjustment to payload
For some models, 'medium support' e/o 'maximum support' lift springs are available. This can be useful for vehicles that are (regularly) heavily loaded.

When does a car require lift springs?

A vehicle may need lift springs in various situations where extra ground clearance, off-road performance or vehicle modification are required. Here are some situations where lift springs may be useful:

  • Off-road and off-road driving
When the vehicle is used off-road, such as when exploring rough terrain or entering muddy trails, lift springs can help provide extra ground clearance and make the vehicle more capable of handling these challenging conditions.
  • Adjustment to payload
If the vehicle is used to carry heavy payloads on a regular basis, lift springs can prevent the vehicle from sagging and the driveability from worsening. For some models, we also offer 'medium support' e/o 'maximum support' lift springs.
  • Aesthetic purposes
Sometimes booster springs are used to give a more robust look to a car, which is especially popular with SUVs, off-road vehicles and pick-up trucks.
  • Specific activities
Vehicles used for specific purposes, such as nature management, fishing or camping in remote areas, can benefit from lift springs to navigate more easily through different terrains.

Why is a certain type of suspension system not available?

Our suspension systems are developed and tested on a vehicle-by-vehicle basis. Has a vehicle entered the market fairly recently? Then the set may still be under development. In addition, a suspension system may not be technically possible on a vehicle. In that case, we offer alternative suspension systems.

Want to check whether a set is under development or can still be developed? Then please contact us:

Can I easily install lift springs by MAD?

All our suspension systems can be installed by a specialist. Our lift springs come complete.

Maximum protection

MAD lift springs are made of high-quality chrome-silicon spring steel. All springs receive an anti-corrosion treatment and are then epoxied with the characteristic blue powder coating for beautiful and long-lasting corrosion-resistant protection.
